Loved seeing language safety features called out. How can we prevent monoculture yet retain interoperability and profitability? Are these inherently at odds?
- mikewarot 5y agoDiversity can help improve interoperability, if everyone sticks to only the public APIs and protocols, you can cross-run unit tests and make sure that everyone passes all of the unit tests for all implementations, and yield the same results, the only difference should be in performance. Like farming, monocultures seem profitable, until the pests show up, and can swamp out all of the advantages.
