I’ve seen this green form of iron in a few circumstances. One, glass. The green tint to common bottle and window glass is from iron impurities. Secondly, in my childhood my parents decided to top off the swimming pool with water from well. After a few days it turned a deep rusty brown. We obtained some sort of chemical from the pool supply store which was supposed to make the iron precipitate somehow. When that happened, the iron sank to the bottom as a powder and the water turned a beautiful green color.
