No clue if they've got CarPlay or Android Auto in the current generation of Tacomas, but I just recently bought a 2016 Taco and I am absolutely loving how smooth the stereo works with my phone. Sure, there's no screen mirroring or whatever those things do, but it just does the right thing all the time with respect to music, texts/iMessage, and phone calls. When I've taken calls on the road, people have been surprised that I was talking on speaker in the truck because they couldn't tell the difference.
