Meanwhile, China went from 6000 Compressed Natural Gas vehicles in 2000 to 6M compressed natural gas vehicles 2017.
1000x increase.
Egypt is pushing for 10% to 20% of all vehicles in the country to be CNG within 24 months or less.
What do they know that we don't?
Electric vehicles are a platform for tax dollar absorption.

China went from close to 0 EVs in 2000 to 4.5 million EVs 2020 [1]. 4.5Mx increase. Europe has the highest EV market share of new car sales, at 10% (China is at 5.7%). > What do they know that we don't? When it comes to EV adoption, developed countries like China and those of Western Europe are way ahead, so that question is still apt, just pointing in the opposite direction. Countries are looking for any cost-effective way to get off gasoline for vehicles to reduce local particulate emissions and petroleum dependency. Some are also want to reduce global CO2 emissions. 1. https://www.pewresearch.org/fact-tank/2021/06/07/todays-electric-vehicle-market-slow-growth-in-u-s-faster-in-china-europe/#:~:text=China%20has%2044%25%20of%20all,and%2017%25%20in%20the%20U.S https://www.pewresearch.org/fact-tank/2021/06/07/todays-elec....
- CyanLite2 5y agoCNG is good for very dense urban environments. But that's not quite the use case for most of America. Also China/Egypt can easily sign an edict requiring CNG infrastructure build-out. Meanwhile in America, we can't even agree if Coronavirus is a hoax or not, let alone pass a decent infrastructure bill.
