The article quote to figure $46,000 a year, does anyone make that in San Francisco? And if so, where the hell do they live?!
- hoopleheaded 5y agoThey didn't pull that number out of thin air. Tons of people make that or less. Retail employees, non-profit workers, restaurant workers, gig workers etc. They live with roommates, with spouses, in rent-controlled units or have unenviable commutes. Even the new $16.32/hr minimum wage is just under $34k/yr and that is assuming people can actually get 40hrs/wk.
