I'm so glad I vaporized my Windows partition a few weeks ago - for completely unrelated reasons but the more time goes on the more I'm sure I made the right choice to swear them off forever. Linux is the only real option if you care about using your computer the way you want instead of how some global corporation decides you should. If you're in the market for a new computer, shop with someone that also cares - System 76 seems like a good start. Dell XPS or Thinkpad with Linux preinstalled would also be a solid choice.
