Show HN: Learn Almost Any Song on Guitar
- grudnyai22 5y agofrettr allows you to select a YouTube video of any song and then shows the chords played in the song as the video plays. frettr also has full playback functionality, so you can slow down songs to learn them more throughly, as well as capo and transposition options additionally.

- grudnyai22 5y agosorry about that- after a certain amount of requests per unit time, YouTube blocks requests and gives an 'HTTP 429 error: Too Many Requests.' If anyone has any possible solutions to this, please reach out! thx -grudnyai22

- ksaj 5y agoFeature Request: Could you also add a "Tune down 1/2 step" since a lot of metal songs are tuned that way. Other than that, it managed to keep up with Yngwie, so it does seem to work well.
- grudnyai22 5y agohi ksaj, frettr has that feature- it's just denoted as "tune up 1/2 step" because the chords are tuned up in the recognition process. I'll change it to "tune down 1/2 step" though because I see how it's confusing. I'm a big SRV and Hendrix guy, so I couldn't forget to add this in development though. thx for the feedback! -grudnyai22
- kazinator 5y agoIt should be called "transpose up 1/2 step". E.g. if the song has an Eb m chord that you'd like to play using an Em fingering on your detuned instrument, the notation needs to be transposed up 1/2 step.
- grudnyai22 5y agothis is great advice- changed it again this morning! -grudnyai22
- codr7 5y agoI think this is pretty awesome, shortens the loop significantly for me when practicing.
- grudnyai22 5y agoglad frettr helps! -grudnyai22
