These aren't that powerful from a computing standpoint; They use low-end i5 11400F along with a low-end nVidia 1650 Super and have 8GB single-channel memory. Also, I think it's more about inefficiency when sleeping and idle.
- pc86 5y agoIf it was about inefficiency there would be regulations about efficiency, not raw power usage.
- cosmotic 5y agoThe linked regulations throughout the other comments are all about efficiency when sleeping.
- c3534l 5y agoYeah, but for me its more about it being illegal than actually being a good laptop.

- techrat 5y agoBuy a 40 Watt Inscandescent light bulb and put it in a lamp next to your current laptop. Turn it on every time you put the laptop to sleep. Same difference.
- parsecs 5y agoThat sounds pretty legal to me, however..
- Drunk_Engineer 5y agoIncandescent light bulbs are generally illegal now.
- wiml 5y agoWhere are incandescent bulbs illegal?
- pacificmint 5y agoMany countries have passed laws to phase out incandescent bulbs, including the US (in 2007) and the EU. [1] Though the laws typically have many exceptions and take effect over time, so saying “incandescent bulbs are illegal” is a somewhat strong statement. - NullPrefix 5y agoIn many EU countries those light bulbs are being sold as space heaters. I know that chicken coups definitely use them as such.
- lotsofpulp 5y agoIs it illegal to possess or just illegal to sell?
- mcswell 5y ago...and if you buy it outside the state?
