The Vegas Loop deflated my expectations of having reliable autonomous driving "soonish" pretty hard.
The environment can't get any more controlled, they could even put trackers on every single passenger, and person, down there.
Yet the thing is still just a glorified taxi fleet, human drivers slowly driving trough RGB lighted tunnels.
- etaioinshrdlu 5y agoDo they have professional drivers shuttling passengers around in tunnels? That's just kind of sad if that's really where they're at by now...
- freeflight 5y agoYup, pretty much just a shuttle service driving Model 3s trough tunnels, they ain't even allowed to drive faster than 35 mph [0] [0] https://www.autoweek.com/news/green-cars/a36686635/las-vegas-loop-launches-with-tesla-cars-minus-some-promised-features/ https://www.autoweek.com/news/green-cars/a36686635/las-vegas...
