I love podcasts, I love livestreams (archived, mostly - I rarely have the time to sit and listen live), yet this whole concept doesn’t appeal to me. It seems to want to combine half of the concept of Discord (IRC with voice chat) with the atmosphere of a conference, spontaneously. Maybe given time people can find the organisational backbone to make it happen but that sounds like it would kill the spontaneity and also probably the mass appeal goal. I remain a luddite in this regard but I still hope they make it fun and popular if it’s possible. There’s rarely much new under the sun nowadays.
