That makes sense. Steering technique is taken seriously as a safety practice in racing. Honestly, steering technique should be taken more seriously in normal driving; for example the person in the lead photo in this article would be in a world of hurt if the airbag deployed with their arms crossed up like that.
Gimmicky yoke wheels have repeatedly failed to catch on for most of a century, outside of goofy kit cars, dead end concepts, and a handful of out-there exotics. Even Saab gave up on trying to come up with a not-a-round-wheel steering gimmick that wasn't awful, after decades of trying.
- lokedhs 5y agoI seem to recall having attachments to steering wheels being illegal in Sweden. This makes me wonder if this wheel won't be illegal in a lot of places.
