Hi HN!
I'd like to share with you a project I've built since more than a year that you can basically see as a StackOverflow-like platform for code reviews.
I decided to start this while I was working on another solo project. I was used to work in developers teams with processes made to improve the quality of code, including...code reviews and at that time I felt alone on my project. What I missed the most are discussions regarding code and how things could be improved, especially since I chose some techs I never used before. I asked myself how freelancers, young graduates or people learning a language improve the quality of their projects.
So I had a look at the existing solutions to get code feedback and choices are either forums not suitable for code reviews (need to display all code & files in one post, copy/paste each line,...), Github (hard to find reviewers and project need to be open-source) or costly 1-to-1 sessions with experts.
Revioo beta was released recently featuring a gamified experience (XP points, badges, ranking) and a built-in code reviewing tool (annotations line-by-line, syntax highlighting, votes, comments).
It's just a MVP and the project will improve over time. It also requires to have an active community to potentially satisfy all review requests, which is not a small challenge!
I made an example [1] to show how a review could look like and the comparison with the same post on Codereview StackExchange.
I'll appreciate to get feedback and glad to answer all questions you can ask!
PS, the code reviewing tool is not 100% optimized for mobile yet.
PS 2, I'm sorry if I made typos, I'm not a native English speaker.

- kaybab 5y agoRevioo is dedicated to code reviews with a built-in tool featuring a "code" tab listing all files of the review and allowing people to post annotations on any line. So you can easily see which lines have been annotated, improving the readability of the review. There is also a "summary" tab where you can clearly see all annotations. StackExchange is a forum, so the format is not really suitable for code reviews IMO. When there are several files, several proposals and comments, the post becomes a little bit messy.
