There are lots of good answers there to the same question that essentially say the same thing as you, but minus telling your kids to fuck off and that you are the boss and smashing the phone. I tend to agree with them, as well as the people who replied to you saying that that’s not a very good parenting style. You’ll likely alienate your children and not teach them anything, except perhaps that they need to respond unquestioningly to authority or they will be met with violence.
I suspect that is more why you were downvoted, but not really sure why you want to re-litigate it here in the first place.
- austincheney 5y agoSo you’re saying the language of the comment upset you? That you would have agreed to the general position had it not generated an emotional response for you?

- ekster 5y agoNo, I am saying that telling your kids to fuck off, you’re the boss, and smashing their phone is poor parenting. Same as everyone else with whom you are arguing here.
- austincheney 5y agoIt’s my phone to do with as I please. Would it be less upsetting if I just returned to the phone store? Do your children dictate to you the rules of what to do with the things you pay for?
- ekster 5y agoIt would be better parenting if you didn’t smash the phone, tell them you’re the boss, and that they should fuck off. I am sorry but if it’s still confusing to you after repeating the same thing three times, along with everyone else saying similar things, then maybe you can start to understand why so many of your comments are flagged dead now. Nobody really wants to have a multi-day conversation with someone who isn’t listening, cross-posts their drama in multiple posts, puts words in others mouths, and generally behaves like an internet addicted teenager themselves.
- austincheney 5y agoThat’s exactly the language my teenager uses when emotional. There is a world of difference between listening and agreement.
