IMHO, containerization technology (Docker) has changed the game for self-hosting. I run a bunch of different services all segregated in their own containers behind a Traefik container that rounts to all of them based on domain/subdomain. I don't have to spend a bunch of time wording about incompatible libraries or versions because everything is self-contained and I can upgrade each service individually without worrying about affecting the other services for the same reason. I can configure it all up simply with docker-compose.
