All that glitters: why lab-made gems might not be an ethical alternative
- mimixco 5y agoSo mined diamonds are bad because mining is, in general bad. Got it. Now we have synthetics and those are bad because... they take away jobs from miners? You can't have it both ways.
- NotSwift 5y agoThe ethical alternative is not using any diamonds as jewelry because some advertising made you believe it was important [0]. If you spend your money instead on improving the life of the people that are currently mining these diamonds, that seems to be a very ethical alternative.
