Women-Owned Businesses Are Still Hard to Find
- 3j2o3ijiii 5y agoMeanwhile, in Germany politicians passed a law that forces companies to hire females for executive board jobs, even if they have better male candidates. Germany and the EU overall is such an anti-male/pro-female place.
- bradknowles 5y agoNAMWOLF is the National Association of Minority and Woman Owned Law Firms. The law firm where my wife is a partner, is a member of NAMWOLF. And yes, the majority of the senior partners are actually women. NAMWOLF has an annual conference, and my wife’s law firm regularly presents there. There are organizations like this, you just have to find them. And then you have to make a choice of using those businesses over someone else.
- France_is_bacon 5y agoAre there rules against women going to the local government office to get a piece of paper that allows one to start a sole proprietorship, fill it out, and return it? Or laws against starting an S corp from the secretary of state? Usually the city or town has them online, or go into the city clerks office. Just call they will tell you where to go and what to do. For example, here's what you do if you are in the City of San Francisco: https://sftreasurer.transactcentral.com/CCSF/servlet/SmartForm.html?formCode=business-registratio https://sftreasurer.transactcentral.com/CCSF/servlet/SmartFo... If you wish to start a corporation, there's all kinds of companies that will do the incorporating for you for $50-$100, if you get the lowest cost option. The fees could be quite a lot more, but the actual company charges that range. Depends on what state you live in for the fees. For example, Kansas state fees to open a corporation is $85. California is $100. Here is a company that will do it for you: https://www.swyftfilings.com/ https://www.swyftfilings.com/ Just select the type of company you want, and the state you're incorporating in. You'll see that the basic choice is $50, which is the one you should get, IMO. It's easy to start a company, the easiest thing in the world. I think it's just that men, in general, are risk-takers, where women want the sure thing. I'm not saying this is for ALL men and women- clearly there are women that start their own businesses. And men that don't. But overall, it must be that women are to scared. But, I suppose it is all men's fault, that seems to be the default position. The patriarchy, the toxic masculinity, the mansplaining, the .... etc, etc, etc. If not, then the ole "society roles" blah, blah, blah. Listen women, you understand by now that there's these "roles" that society supposedly imposes on you (and on men), so are you going to be a strong woman (or man) and do what you want, or not? Are you the type that looks for "likes" on social media because you want to please other people and conform, or are you like, the hell with everyone else? Be that strong, independent woman, or man, and do what you want to do in life, as long as it is healthy and contributes to the world.
