I assume you’re taking about Cmdr. Fravor? When he was interviewed on Lex Friedman, he was asked why more was not done at the time to investigate. His reply was along the lines that he and everyone else had plenty to do for their day job already. They were doing ‘work ups’ for a deployment and Cmdr. Fravor was at that time the youngest of that rank on that ship and perhaps in the navy. So it would be a large reputation as risk to stop a busy training schedule to investigate this. He also said that if it had a Russian or Chinese flag, they would have no issue in re-assigning every resource available to investigate.
