This is absurd. I've worked as an app developer in Sweden for 7 years. In all apps/products I've worked on we always had double the users on iOS than on Android. Yet the map shows Sweden being an Android country… how can this be?
- Flimm 5y agoLikewise, I really doubt that all the African countries marked as iPhone really are "iPhone territory". The key sentence is this article is: > Published by Electronics Hub, [these maps] are based on a qualitative analysis of almost 350,000 tweets worldwide that presented positive, neutral, and negative attitudes toward Android and/or Apple." It's a jump in logic to conclude general consumer preferences as the article does: > Now the results are in: worldwide, consumers clearly prefer one side — and it's not Steve Jobs'. I don't think Twitter users are good representatives of general consumer preferences, especially in countries where Twitter is not widely popular. And that's just for starters.

- omar_kha 5y agoios users are more likely to pay/use apps?
- selfhoster11 5y agoSampling bias, I'd guess. While unlikely, it could be possible that Android users just happened not to use the apps that you were developing.
