We closed ~$7m deal. the first of many more to come. Partner decides to steal the product, try to sell it himself, thought nobody would find out. He ruined many millions in profits but lost only ~$500k in court. No justice.
- csilverman 5y agoI’d love to hear more about this story if you’re willing to talk about it, although I can imagine it’s something you might not want to revisit. I’m very curious about how in the world the guy thought he could covertly steal a $7m product.
- high_byte 5y agoyou know how they say to create a pie from scratch you must first create the universe? maybe one day some Hollywood producer will adapt this story to a mediocre film
- 0xy 5y agoStole code/assets or just the idea?
- high_byte 5y agothe laptops with the code. since he was partner police said I should resolve it in court...
- nickfromseattle 5y agoHow did him stealing the code impact your company's revenue?
- ramtatatam 5y agoIf there was enough on that laptop to start up a clone of the service then that would be enough to go to existing customers and sell it to them instead of original service.
