What’s complex about *nix? All you need to understand are device files, POSIX permissions and ACLs, cgroups, tcp/udp sockets, nginx/haproxy, thread/process scheduling, (virtual) memory, PAM, dbus, syslog, pipes, unix sockets, 30 filesystem options, nfs, userspace vs. kernel space, sysvinit or 10 flavors of systemd files, iptables/ufw, networkmanager, ssh, selinux, chroot, flatpack, snaps, rpm, deb, ansible/chef/puppet.
Oh deploying on the cloud? Cloudformation/AzureRM as well.
Pretty easy. No damn complex k8s needed.
- nikau 5y agoThe irony in your comment is tools like networkmanager, snaps, systemd are kubernetes like and severely disliked by experienced unix admins due to the needless complexity and usability of them.
