Twitter is testing upvote or downvote on replies
- musicale 5y agoGreetings, social media fans! Over the past year you've spoken loud and clear and the message we've heard is: you love flame wars, trolling, sock-puppet armies, cancellation contests, and outrage-fests! It's all part of what makes social media such a special place. Well, we at [mediacorp] love all of these things too - because they drive "engagement," doomscrolling, and ad impressions on our platform. So today we're giving you another great way to fight: upvote/downvote wars! Laugh as nuanced thought and people you don't like are downvoted to oblivion! Enjoy the purity of a world where nothing you disagree with is visible. Feel the pain of defeat and shame as your own heartfelt posts are voted down and become unreadable! Have fun, and may the loudest voice always win!
- cyanydeez 5y agowhat it needs is a cascading ignore that lets you block someone and anyone who follows them.
- nullc 5y agoYou can approximate that by simply not using twitter. You may, however, find that this isn't strong enough-- it's useful to look for people who are highly active on twitter and avoid them in your life generally.
- cyanydeez 5y agoi mean, people link to twitter all the time even when i do as you suggest.
- musicale 5y agoKill files/hierarchical block is an interesting idea.
