- TomOfTTB 15y agoLast I heard we were estimated to be spending $533 billion per year in 2015 and that estimate was from 2009 (we've spent a lot more since then). So assuming that's brought us a little closer you can assume we'll be paying $500 billion in the next year or so. Meaning you can look at the One Trillion Visualization and cut it in half. Only source I could find for this: http://money.cnn.com/2009/11/19/news/economy/debt_interest/index.htm http://money.cnn.com/2009/11/19/news/economy/debt_interest/i...
- sigil 15y agoTotal Federal spending is around $3.5 trillion a year these days. This and lots of other useful information can be found here: http://usgovernmentspending.com/ http://usgovernmentspending.com/
- ctdonath 15y agohttp://www.treasurydirect.gov/govt/reports/ir/ir_expense.htm http://www.treasurydirect.gov/govt/reports/ir/ir_expense.htm $385B of this year's spending is just paying interest on the debt. Scale the $1000B (one trillion) picture accordingly.
