I don't understand this article. Is Microsoft criticizing it's own UI decisions? I had no idea Windows worked this way, it seems like such an odd way of working to me. As for 'hidden' applications, all of my applications are hidden on my Mac. I exclusively use spotlight or Alfred to open an app, I can't imagine working any other way with any semblance of productivity.
