Such bikeshedding ^_^ clearly something everyone can have an opinion about, and every one of them (mine included) will be insuficciently informed to contribute any value. I've used and found every possible way of creating new files useful, maybe except for copying and then emptying (except for some times when being a lazy programmer). Working in Windows95 explorer, the context menu from right-clicking seemed extremely reasonable, and I'd probably still use that if I worked on windows.
