I'll be honest, if someone described me as "scumbags who have tried to turn <n> into spyware" on the issue tracker for a project I maintain, I'd probably block them too. That kind of language really doesn't achieve anything, and any issue-tracker is better off without it.
- sundvor 5y agoJust closing the issue with no further comment on such an important allegation is not good though. I know my wife recently installed Audacity; I'm going to scramble to figure out what the state of this is now. Thanks Antisol for bringing it to my attention!

- belter 5y agoIf you see the post from geofft, it could be argued the person filling in the issue was being precise and correct. To make it clear, this would be them not you :-)
- antisol 5y agoThat would indeed be my argument.
- maverwa 5y agoExactly. Disagreement, even a stronge disagreement with peoples opinions or actions does not require or even permit personal attacks. I do like changes done to audcity, but I dislike calling people "scumbags" or stuff like that.
- antisol 5y agoI'd argue that the post contains no personal attacks, only descriptive terms.
- happytoexplain 5y agoAssuming you're referring to the same writing the parent is, "scumbag" is, at the logical minimum, both a personal attack and a descriptive term.
- Ygg2 5y agoWould replacing scumbags with fuckers work for you? Because shipping people to CCP for criticizing you, is scumbags at minimum.
- Ygg2 5y agoSince last message was flagged, please explain to me, how is shipping people to CCP is considered a "strong disagreement". That's like saying Nazi's were a bit naughty. Or that inside of an active star is lukewarm. It's an outright lie. If anything GP was very temperate in their response.
