Is the police not at least in-part responsible for the death? From my POV, it’s the inappropriate charging of the police force that caused the death of the man. And clearly the police can handle the case differently. Of course, the kids must face consequences as well but I believe the police can not be acquitted. I don’t think such incidents can happen anywhere else in the world.
- rob74 5y agoIf they have credible information that an armed and dangerous person has killed someone and may be about to harm other people, what should they do? Just ignore it? Or send some unarmed officers over first to check, who may then get shot?
- isolli 5y agoExcept that the information was not credible. Assessing the credibility of information should be part of the operating procedure.
- libertine 5y agoHonestly I don't judge the police MO. How are you supposed to approach this report when firearms and rifles are extremely common? It's easy to say you have to give the benefit of doubt when you're sitting behind a desk, but when you're in the front line I don't think it's that simple. At this moment it looks like it's a roll of a dice.
