Apparently, function overloading in a language like C# is done at compile time, while in Julia is done at runtime based on the type of argument given.

  You can achieve the same using dynamic in C#: eff((dynamic)pokemon1.type, (dynamic)pokemon1.type); Comes at a bit of a performance cost of course.
