AFAIK the difference is Haiti massacred basically every white colonist in the region resulting in a US enforcement of owing money to france businesses. US colonists on principle were likely not going to support a slave rebellion fearing similar retribution. But i dont know much on the subject.
- aurizon 5y agoYes,, yet no enforcement of back wages owed to former slaves. This past era left many with dirty hands. California entered the Union with anti-slavery part of their credo.
