I must be missing something here. Surely trains have a much lower carbon impact than cars and planes do, right?
- chongli 5y agoLower yes, but not zero. Concrete and steel for construction of the railways produces a lot of emissions. Even if the trains are electric, a lot of the U.S. grid is powered by fossil fuels (mainly coal plus some natural gas).
