Mussolini said fascism should rightfully be called corporatism because it is the marriage of the corporation and the state. If Elon wants to do those things as a capitalist, he can fund them without public money. Since corporations are married to the state, he (and many others) get that public funding without any votes or public oversight of how it is used. That's not democracy.
- ipspam 5y agoI would disagree and say it's the governments problem for giving him the money. Alternatively, I would say that if the government DIDN'T give out our money, I'm not so sure Elon wouldn't stop be atop the heap of battery companies.
- mimixco 5y agoI read recently that Tesla would be out of business if it weren't for the tax credits and public money they received. That's not much of a compliment to one's business skills.
