LSD microdosing: Self-experiment with sub-psychedelic doses of LSD; no benefit
- okareaman 5y agoI came across a quote from Hacker News in this essay: “…When I did 2 hits of acid, I had the exact opposite experience of seeing God. The fact that such a tiny amount of a mere chemical could effect my ‘soul’ so profoundly was proof positive that the soul is completely material. I already believed this intellectually, but this experience solidified this knowledge into my very being. So personally, I would recommended experimenting with a psychedelic or two for those who wish to study Philosophy.” from user darius42: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=5210978 https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=5210978 I disagree with the materialists because I view the brain as being similar to a radio receiver that tunes into consciousness that pervades the universe. If you take parts out of the radio it won't be able to tune in and similarly if you change it's operation with a chemical the brain will tune in a different way.
- codevark 5y agoSome people are cut out to be psychonauts, others, not. I've seen people smoke an entire (real) joint and not get high. I've seen people eat multiple hits of (real) acid, and not trip. Some people never get off the dock. Some people, it takes multiple tries. I'm sure this is even more pronounced when microdosing.
- seattle_spring 5y agoWithout getting too into the illegal weeds, how do people even get the stuff in the first place to experiment with? I haven't had a drug dealer connection for 15 years.
