In Plain Sight: How waste might help us find the mysterious Velella
- soperj 5y agoThis was a very cool article about a creature I'd never heard of before. Presents an interesting problem at the end of the article. I feel like the majority of the people trying to fix the plastic in ocean problem don't necessarily spend all that much time on the ocean.
- pvaldes 5y agoThe article forget a curious fact. Velella is not an individual animal, is a floating city or a floating reef. A colony of several really specialized individuals each one with a mission. Is a very cool creature. All pelagic ones are 'out-of-this-planet' cool. Glaucus for example is incredible. Sea skaters are just the cherry on top.
