  Not quite. It doesn’t work on every pan. You can’t easily walk into someone else’s kitchen and guess the setting needed for some medium heat dish by visually examining the burner on induction like you can on gas. (I mention this as someone who’d prefer to cutover to induction and getting resistance* from the main user of the gas cooktop.) * - couldn’t help myself
