Who Authorized America's Wars?
- watersb 5y agoCable television.
- MikeUt 5y ago> As Suitt points out, about 42% of Americans are now either unaware of the fact that their country is still fighting wars in the Greater Middle East and Africa or think that the war on terror is over. Consider that for a moment. What does it mean to be fighting wars for a country in which a near majority of the population is unaware that you’re even doing so?
- alexanderdmitri 5y agoMany people would be surprised to learn America has been at war for about 93% of the years its been existence[0]. The Roman empire was at war nearly non-stop for centuries too and with probably varying degrees of public awareness[1]. The real news I think would be an empire that managed to avoid war for any extended period of time w/out declining. If examples of this exist in history, perhaps we can learn from them. - 1cvmask 5y agoThe ruling establishment and the media mouthpieces (aka State media) of the national security establishment. This is why they want censorship of all tech platforms. You need to muzzle freedom of speech by limiting the freedom of reach. Hence all the talk on limiting disinformation and misinformation while media mouthpieces are the biggest spreaders of state lies. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yellow_journalism https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yellow_journalism https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Propaganda_of_the_Spanish%E2%80%93American_War https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Propaganda_of_the_Spanish%E2%8...
- wombatmobile 5y agoIt's in the Pledge of Allegiance [1]. The wars are authorised by God, to bring liberty and justice for all. > I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.
