>Plenty more that I can't remember off the top of my head.
You should familiarize yourself with the rest of post-War 20th century history in the United States, then. Far, far more deadly and dangerous "conspiracy theories" existed before the internet and caused actual deaths of sitting politicians. It's the Presentism of all of this that is making people forget how pernicious it is, letting these powerful organizations have this authority to ban "misinformation".

- remarkEon 5y agoHere's an example that often gets memory-holed. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1954_United_States_Capitol_shooting https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1954_United_States_Capitol_sho...
- devwastaken 5y agoWe have not yet seen all to come from these conspiracy nuts. Jan 6th was a beginning, "militias" are itching to shoot anyone to "defend their freedom". The fbi did their job for a number of the attacks I listed, or else the governor of Michigan and Virginia would be dead, and a military response would have had to kill dozens of "militia" members when the state arrests them.
