Ask HN: How would you react to a applicant who does not believe in Covid Vaccine
Would a choice of 1) not believing in Covid disease/virus AND/OR 2)Covid vaccine (and thereby not getting vaccinated) factor into your company's selection process?

- h2odragon 5y agoIs it relevant to the job you're hiring for? If not, then is it any of your business?
- templarchamp 5y agoIt does not matter directly. Does a person's capability for well formed thoughts not matter? Is there any subjectivity in the current situation where people do not believe in the virus (and or the vaccine)?
- h2odragon 5y agoSome people don't believe this virus is the severe danger that it has been sold as. In some places, at some times, it would've been unthinkable to employ a Catholic, or in others just as unthinkable to employ someone who wasn't. Was there less subjectivity there?
- detaro 5y agoA candidate bringing that up seems weird?
- throwawayboise 5y agoWould you ask an applicant about his HIV status? Other STDs? Other health history and vaccines? Where is the line?
- hellotomyrars 5y agoNot exactly apples to apples considering you can’t contract HIV just by being in the same room as someone who has HIV.
- aritmo 5y agoAntivaxxers are people who get easily angry/duped from what they read on social media. It is a sign of inexperience. It would be a big NO for certain roles.
- approxim8ion 5y agoIf it isn't a remote role then it absolutely should be a factor because it's a matter of safety. If it is then it's a little more grey, but personally I wouldn't associate them.
