I wonder if renting a 'safe house' near where you want to steal/rob etc is a factor. Any group would want to drop their bags, change their coats etc, before they went on a new job? With text coordinating efforts, all manner of heists could be arranged. There were groups who stole vans for smash and grab raids - vans are large and trackable, A number of quiet BNB rentals for a day could be used by a gand of 5-20 people as a stash/change house to grab a load of high end goods. I am sure they were trained to avoid being followed etc?
