Apple M1X vs. M2 chip: What we know so far
- te_chris 5y agoI’m so excited to see what they can do with DAW performance with a full power chip. Given what M1 can do, might finally be at the point where we can stop worrying about CPU capacity when making music with DAWs - Ableton for me, aware they haven’t even gone native apple silicon yet.
- rvz 5y agoI guess it pays to wait then and by the time Ableton eventually becomes Apple Silicon optimized, it will already be running on a chip faster than the M1. Apple will use them as a comparison benchmark alongside Xcode and the like running under Rosetta to see the staggering difference. That is the time to jump on the Apple Silicon train; when everything you need to do your work is stable.
