    I accidentally powered down a san once by knocking it's rocker switch with my elbow :-)

      - redundant power supplies - redundant ethernet connections - data across redundant disks ... and all of it bypased by an accidental elbow :)

    A latching relay would be perfect for this kind of thing, good current capacity and they're pretty reliable.
