- baud147258 5y agoAnd going for a purely carbon-producing perspective, stopping uranium mining (unless it would have been very damaging for the environment) is a loss, since uranium is used to produce carbon-neutral electricity. Though it's easy understand locals not wanting any on their island, after the US shenanigans during the cold war.
