Science failed to predict flood and heat intensity
- loopz 5y ago"... She, and other scientists, agree climate change is an emergency. But Oxford Prof Tim Palmer told me: "It’s is impossible to say how much of an emergency we are in because we don’t have the tools to answer the question. "We need a commitment and vision with the magnitude of CERN (Europe's major physics research centre) if we are to build climate models that can accurately simulate the extremes of climate like the Canadian heatwave."
- unearth3d 5y agoDisingenuous headline! Scientists have been saying climate (and local weather) would become more extreme since at least mid 1970's, politians and much of Capital chose to ignore and sideline the science. Obviously climate is terribly complicated, so 'worse' should be enough for rational people to respond.
- loopz 5y agoIt's from the article, but your sentiment mirrors my thoughts as well.
- chrispeel 5y agoThat's a terrible headline.
