Does anyone have information about the 'external power supply' of the heart in the linked article? I've found some info that is years out of date and I'm wondering how unobtrusive the unit is now.

This needs to all be redundant, or otherwise safe in the mission critical sense. Then they have batteries, and all the stuff that goes with connecting the two (power regulation, conditioning, etc) and alarms, etc.
