Devil’s advocate: Why not just go visit LA if you’re vaccinated? If you just wear a mask indoors and follow local health guidelines, I don’t see why you can’t go and have a great time.
Most of LA’s attractions are outdoors too, and the chance of catching COVID or its variant outdoors is still low. My only concern would be the airport and planes if you’re flying.

But, like everyone everywhere dealing with the pandemic, I was getting hopes high for a trip in a place where masks mandates had abated, and LA was one of those places. The list of places to go that don't require flying... well, honestly, I just want to get out of the SF/Tahoe area and be mask free. I get that it's mostly a matter of disappointment that I have to deal with here. I'm not a mask resister, but I am not wearing them day to day.. and if I can, I'd rather vacation without it.
