This post criticizes a politician for having a former employee who was allegedly formerly a member of an IRC channel, other members of which did bad things. Is this not cancel culture?

It meets the definition on Wikipedia (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cancel_culture https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cancel_culture). Unfortunately, the term tends to result in a lot of hypocrisy, as people tend to only call it "cancelling" when it's someone they like or agree with.
