That this all happened amid an ongoing global health crisis of epic proportions is all the more terrifying.” It's strange to call "the right-wing" into question for their assertions when this claim calls the entire establishment into question.

There were at least a dozen stories on this stuff that made the frontpage: https://hn.algolia.com/?q=ivermectin https://hn.algolia.com/?q=ivermectin, including such gems as “wonder drug continues to surprise and exceed expectations” (https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=27778458 https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=27778458) and “No bigger story in the world: why are journalists not covering Ivermectin” (https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=27329461 https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=27329461). The comments on the top story, getting 300+ votes, are also a sight to behold: ‘I truly hope in the coming years the censorship of this topic will be the catalyst for allowing free speech to prevail on social media.“ (https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=27562412 https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=27562412). Also: “Please do not spread fake news. All current vaccines are less than 1% effective.” Let’s see if the people who read those stories get a chance to see the correction, as well.

Looks more like Engrish to me. The study was based in Egypt. I would assume that this is just a poor translation. Hanlon's razor in effect.
