I wondered why they didn't go for the same style as their Steam controllers with the concave pads.

  I don't know about anyone else, but I hated the Steam controller. So I can understand why they didn't continue with that design.

    I loved the design, playing FPS games with it was (and is) really intuitive. There was a learning curve though and games needed to support its weird style of giving inputs.

      Steam controller is one of the best, if not the best, input design ever made. It's a shame different, even if better, is too big a hurdle for some people.
