i would have thought so too...wasted alot of time trying to get digital systems to generate and recognize ntsc signals. color encoding was a disaster. but I'm thinking now...i could at least build something from the ground up. i dont know how much machinery i would have to build to talk to an hdtv connector - maybe i would even have to apply for a key.
