84% of new coronavirus patients were not vaccinated
- guilhas 5y agoIsraeli and UK gov numbers show that more than 50% of the delta variant covid deaths are vaccinated people. Which could make sense since more than 50% are of the population is vaccinated, but it might show that the vaccine is not that effective
- kaminar 5y agoPlot twist: at least 1 out of 6 vaccinated patients will get Sars anyway...are you next?
- CodesInChaos 5y ago1/6 of corona virus patients are vaccinates is very different from 1/6 of vaccinated people getting corona. Also your use of "patients" is problematic, since 100% of corona virus patients have corona.
- lm28469 5y agoPlot twist 2: that's not how statistics work Plot twist 3: even if you get it you're much more unlikely to develop serious symptoms when you're vaccinated
- zqna 5y agoHere are more detailed statistics that were used as the source for this article: https://www.rivm.nl/en/news/number-of-people-who-tested-positive-increases-sixfold https://www.rivm.nl/en/news/number-of-people-who-tested-posi... See breakdowns per age group and infection location. The distribution of vaccinations per age group is here: https://www.rivm.nl/en/covid-19-vaccination/figures-vaccination-programme https://www.rivm.nl/en/covid-19-vaccination/figures-vaccinat... Which shows that the proportion of vaccinated youngsters (who dominate in recent infections) is more or less in line with other age groups. By aligning those numbers with total amount of people in specific age group, one could tell the impact of vaccine for (not) getting ill At a quick glance (excluding behavioral contexts, which are more difficult to measure) it seems obvious that having no vaccination substantially increases the chance of getting ill. Which is not really the news, as pharmas already published such information after their own tests. The difference now is that these are official and substantial numbers to draw an independent conclusion. So, theoretically any anivaxxer who understands the statistics, should be easy to be persuaded
- BurnGpuBurn 5y agoWho needs persuasion? For what? To protect the elderly and sick people? Haven't they all got the chance already to protect themselves? Then why should anyone be forced (or persuaded) to take it? Oh and again, and "infection", often determined by a positive pcr test, doesn't mean you "have covid", or are sick at all. Expecially with young people today we should be glad they all get infected with a variant that doesn't make them sick. It's what virusses do after all, they mutate and get more viral and less deadly. Great news, let's party and infect each other so that everybody makes anti-bodies so that we achieve herd immunity and protect the elderly and the weak during winter. That is science. For some more clarification: In The Netherlands for the last couple of weeks there have been about 200 covid patients lying in the about 300 hospitals we have here. Less than one covid patient per hospital.
