Does Wayland even have a good remoting solution today?
- alexeiz 5y agoI use Xpra to remote individual apps. It's not as good as RDP, but better than other remoting solutions like forwarding X11 over ssh, Nomachine or X2go.
- snuxoll 5y agoNo, because like everything else it has to be done by the compositor. I’m not going to pretend it’s super simple to make Linux work in a modern VDI environment, there’s a lot that needs to be done to match what Citrix, VMWare and Microsoft do - but it kind of shows that nobody actually thinks Linux on the desktop makes sense when nobody has even tried to make it work.
