Skyward Sword HD proves we didn’t need a generation of motion controls
- PaulHoule 5y agoMy son and I were talking the other day how the impact of motion controls for the Wii were overestimated. That is, the Wii was successful because of (1) strong exclusive titles, (2) low price, (3) early introduction to market. People forgot games like the SimCity port that proved most people didn't have the strength to use the WiiMote as a pointing device to manipulate objects on the screen. The Wii drove both Sony and Microsoft to make their own motion control peripherals which were critically acclaimed but had little impact.
